Japanese late Meiji Era c. 1890 ceramic imari lamp with Chinese style Dragon. It has a hand painted design of peony flowers of various colors, other flower, leaves and decorations. The Dragon is raised from the surface as if coiled around the lamp. (see pictures 7, 8 and 9 for all angles). The lamp is made of a high fire ceramic for lasting durability. The base is made of a very hard dark wood. Having been in storage for over 100 years, it remain in fine condition. The ceramic lamp alone measures 6″ in diameter at its widest by 12″ tall (15 x 30.5 cm). With the base, light socket and lamp shade holder it measures 27 tall.
