It measures approx 32cm high and 24.5cm wide 12cm deep. It is made of wood with metal hinges and handles. There are silk tassel to the top doors metal closures. There are two lower drawers and three drawers behind the doors. It is decorated to the outside with hand painted scenes of lotus flowers, a bird and mountain views. To the sides there are fern motifs. The inside of the top doors is lacquered with gilt painted trees on rocks and white boat sails with birds flying in the sky. It has a Clockwork musical movement to the lower drawer- The Song from Moulin Rouge- It does work but this may need a clean/ service to bring it back to its former glory. It does have a few slight scratches and marks commensurate with age, there is a chip to the right hand door- not visible when closed. Overall a lovely vintage musical jewellery box.
