Beautiful Byoubu painted Screen depicting flowers on naturally oxidized silver leafed background. Oxidation of silver creates unique , one of a kind , stunning pattern , making this screen truly unique. Screens were made over wooden frame with multiple backing paper layers and final layer of paper or silk , with applied silver or gold leaf… Framed in lacquered wood with attractive brocade silk framing the painting.. Single minor front damage as seen on photos.. Considering those are normal and expected abrasions , screen is in a very decent condition and can be displayed on the wall without repairs. Age : meji period ,,19 th century. 171.5×365painted area 154×377. Good condition with some minor abrasions due of age as you see in the photos. Hello, you are viewing my sale for a Stunning Chinese Japanese Painting On Paper of what appears to be a King, Emperor, or Elder Scholar. This highly detailed painting is both Signed and Stamped on the bottom right corner. I have shown this in my photographs. This painting measures 14 and 1/4″ wide by 26 and 5/8″ tall not including the small fold in the top section where it appears to have originally been folded to fit into a frame. The details throughout are amazing. I have not seen another like this one. The back side of the painting shows either bleed thru from the front or a preliminary sketch from the artist. This is a must have Asian Chinese Japanese Painting. Please view all my photographs for further details. Please note all sales are final.
