His name is Dalai, his characters are Lianshan (or, according to one theory, Taigang in name and Dalai in character), and his pen name is Jiang Jia-pu. He was a frequent visitor to Japan since the 1st year of Bunka Era (1804), and taught literati painting in Nagasaki, which marked the beginning of the Japanese art world’s learning of Nanshuu-style landscape painting. He taught literati painting to Sugai Baekan, Kinoshita Itsuun, Tetsuo Somon, and others. He was also friends with Nampo Ota and others. More famous in Japan than in China.
