An Absolute fabulous antique Paper Mâché Japanese tray. It is in a decorative Oval style shape. The tray has an overall floral design with beautiful hand-painted lace surrounding the center bouquet of flowers. Around the frame of the tray is all handpainted leaves and florals. The tray does have some paint loss and chipping around the edges but considering its age I believe its in very nice shape. The tray measures 21 inches wide and 13 inches tall. And the back of the tray which is in real nice condition I found a little signature stamp that says made in Japan. Please look at all pictures very carefully and close up , For they are part of the description. MANY MORE ANTIQUES & COLLECTABLES IN OUR SHOP SO WHY NOT PAY US A VISIT. JAPANESE, CHINESE, English, welsh & european PORCELAINS currently in stock along with a range of metal wares. A pair of rather beautiful, mother of Pearl inlay, Japanese pictures. The frames are constructed of wood and lacquer, the lacquer being a very dark, brick red ground with floral pattern. The picture board is papier mache with mother of pearl inlaid picture detail depicting Mount Fuji in the distance, lake with sailing boats and two Japanese females in traditional dress to the foreground. Each picture weighs just under 1kg (2.2lbs) unwrapped weight. Any Questions, please ask! Overall, in very good condition given their age. Although impossible to note every imperfection in great detail , there are s ome surface marks and wear here and there on the pictures themselves (see photos) and some lacquer flaked in places on the frames, more so on one frame than the other, however, do display incredibly well and the minor (we feel) imperfections may well be able to be restored if desired.
