A pair of rather beautiful, mother of Pearl inlay, Japanese pictures. The frames are constructed of wood and lacquer, the lacquer being a very dark, brick red ground with floral pattern. The picture board is papier mache with mother of pearl inlaid picture detail depicting Mount Fuji in the distance, lake with sailing boats and two Japanese females in traditional dress to the foreground. Each picture weighs just under 1kg (2.2lbs) unwrapped weight. Any Questions, please ask! Overall, in very good condition given their age. Although impossible to note every imperfection in great detail , there are s ome surface marks and wear here and there on the pictures themselves (see photos) and some lacquer flaked in places on the frames, more so on one frame than the other, however, do display incredibly well and the minor (we feel) imperfections may well be able to be restored if desired.
