This is an antique Japanese signed painting of a pair of tigers in a bamboo grove. It is signed by the well known Japanese artist Gyokuhou Horie (born in 1917) known to be an expert tiger painter. The painting is matted in silk. The tiger is one of the 12 Japanese zodiac animals. This painting is 35 1/2″ wide by 11 1/2″ tall (89 x 29 cm), having been carefully stored for nearly 100 years, it remains in very good condition. The is frame made of Zelkova wood (keyaki) with radius corners measuring approximately 49″ wide by 17 1/4″ tall (123 x 43.5 cm). Ll love it, I guarantee it.
