The paper leaf is exquisitely painted on one side with fish and flora, the reverse is painted with birds and insects amongst fruit, flowers, a table and vases. The guard sticks are finely inlaid in mother of pearl and coloured hardstone with birds and branches of wisteria and other floral sprays. There is a silk tassel attached with a shibayama inlaid ball. The fan measures 27cm high and extends to 48cm in width. Overall in good condition. One inlaid mother of pearl flower lacking on one of the guard sticks and slight wear and marks to the paper folds.
