An earthenware vase, of twin-handled, pear shaped form. By the Kinkozan studio. 1868 – 1912, late 19th century. The body depicting twin scene panels, one with figures offering sacrifice to the deity Kannon and the other with villagers in rejoice around a Ochaya dwelling. The diaper borders filled with rich gilt patterning atop a bold cobalt blue ground. The vase fitted with a pair of ornate baroque-style scrollwork handles. Signed “Kinkozan Zo” in an embossed seal to the underside of the base. Excellent Condition, without any damage.
