Antique Hand Painted Oil on Canvas Wall Hanging Swallows & Irisies – Rare. This is a very special find and is absolutely stunning. The Japanese scene depicts a swallow flying over a lake with irisies below and flowers sitting on branches above. It is hand painted in oils on to a heavy linen canvas. We suspect this may have originally been framed or been part of the fold to a modesty screen or room divider. The colours on this are simply wonderful and it immediately draws your eye. This makes a beautiful wall hanging or could be framed if preferred. Overall measurements are 180cms high x 57cms wide. Please note that there are signs of wear to the piece which are commensurate with age. However, it remains in excellent overall condition with no tears to the canvas.
