These two paintings are watercolours on silk and date from early to the mid-1800s. They are of Japanese origins and are finely done with the subject being Studies of Inset and Flora. One depicts a Dragonfly whilst the other a Mantis. Botha are mong plants. The green silk background has naturally darkened over age. Both pieces of Art are in frames and glazed. 1920’s Japanese Hand Painted Flowers and Landscape Wood Fan Signed. The fan is 10.1 inches (25.7 cm) long by 17.2 inches (43.8 cm) wide when opened. Each leaf is 10.1 inches (25.7 cm) long by 1.15 inches (3 cm) wide. It is 41.4 gram. Some of the leaves have flea bite chips at the edges, surface wears and scratches, paint wears, foxing, stains, and traces of glue near the ribbons (as seen in the photos).
