Lot of eight (8) vintage Japanese Silk watercolor paintings (4 in each of two frames), each panel has a unique depiction of a unique beautiful bird with colorful blossoms. All panels measure approximately 6″ x 4 3/8″. Signed in fancy black calligraphy with a red seal/chop. All 8 red seal/chops are same artist. Wood frames (38″ x 9 1/2″), are faux brown marble, designed by Artists’ Frame Services, Chicago. Dust covers are still intact, but should be replaced just to clean hard to see spots/dust from inside glass. When viewed with a very bright light, the spots are on the glass not art. Unsure of age, but the labels date back to 1978. One frame has small damage at middle bottom, hard to find. Please see pictures for details. Spectacular hexagon six panels of old crane screen painting lamp. Black lacquer base and part of the neck is lacquer but the hexagon body seems to be glass or ceramic and has a high sheen. Rare have not found another like it, not even close! Stands generous at approx 13″ high and approx 12″ across at its most bulbous point. The base is approx 8 in diameter. A very good looking well made and decorative piece. The chest is an ideal lamp or wine table size, it has three drawers with early Japanese cast handles, the main body is lacquered and decorated with Crain birds sitting amongst flowers and trees. Antique chinoiserie lacquer lamp painted birds mountains moon Japanese Aesthetic

Original antique chinoiserie lamp dating to the 1920s, with typical painted and raised design against an ebonised background. Please read the whole description to asses condition. The lampshade is hand painted in an Oriental inspired design to compliment the base, and features an egret, a bird-of-paradise, Japanese acer and ravens in a mountain landscape with muted colours on a mustard yellow background. The lampshade is not antique but hand drawn and painted by Lacoona using pen, pigment ink and acrylics on cotton canvas. As with all of my lampshades this design is unique and will not be available in the same format again. The lampshade is semi-opaque, some of the detail can be seen through when lit, but most of the light is projected over the base. Would benefit from being used in a room where there are more sources of light so that it can be fully appreciated. The lamp base is 35 cm tall and the base is 11.5 cm in diameter. The lampshades measures 39 cm diameter. Comes with 2.5 m gold twisted fabric cable. The lamp base is in good antique condition with only superficial scratches and the chinoiserie design intact. Has been rewired using a period bakelite switched bulb holder, new twisted gold flex and modern 3 amp UK plug, but safety will need to be ascertained by a qualified electrician prior to use. The lampshade can be used with up to 11 ESE bulbs. Led bulbs are advisable as hot bulbs could damage the painting in the long run. Photographed with 5 W led bulb. The lampshade does have a flaw from fabrication, it was not constructed completely symmetrically when made and as a result it looks off centered when on the lamp base, from some angles more than others. Some of you may be able to cope with this and resolve to arrange in a such a way it looks good, while for others this could be very annoying indeed. The items I sell are either handmade and/or vintage/antique goods. Due to their nature and/or age, they are not perfect. All significant flaws are described.
