Authentic Japanese Hand Painted with Mother of Pearl Inlay. Jewelry Box has lock & key. Key turns the lock but the locking mechanism doesn’t catch well. There appears to have been some minor paint touch ups on some of the edges. Visible upon very close inspection. I did not notice it until I put the box under bright photography lights. Inside of box has not been cleaned. It isn’t dirty or stained but it does have some dust and small items that could be picked up with the adhesive from a lint roller. Music Box works well but I cannot identify the tune. Music mechanism is in the bottom right corner and is covered by a piece of lacquered wood that lifts out. Background props not included.
