I have for sale a really incredible antique Japanese piece. It features a dragon that is exceptionally formed and highly detailed. The other two had the claw on the right broken off, however, as the photos show it is present on this piece. I believe this was made to hold paint brushes, but it could be used for pens, pencils, etc.. I have to admit I absolutely love this thing. This is one of those rare things I almost pocketed for myself. Size: 4.5″ (Length) 2.25″ (Width) 1.5 (Height). If you have any questions and/or need more photos please send me a message. This superbly rendered ink on delicate Japanese paper dates from the early to middle years of the 1900s and measures 34 1/8 x 21 1/8 framed; 27 x 14 (sight) inside the pale celadon fabric mat. Prominently signed on the right, the work is obviously by a masters hand. The work is in very good condition. The framer told me that there is old tape on the top edge of the back and a slight wrinkle on one upper corner (away from the image) that is covered by the mat. It has been re=framed using UV protective Plexiglas and acid free materials. The frame is the original mid-century black painted wood with some scuffs.
