The painting depicts a wild goose in flight with water reeds below. The painting is signed and sealed as follows. It is framed in a simple green and gold wooden frame, set within a buff coloured mount. Imai is a Japanese Asian Modern & Contemporary artist who was. Born in Fukushima Prefecture in 1930, and was a pupil of Maeda. He received awards at the 1965, 1967 and 1992 Inten Exhibition Japan Academy Award. In 1994 he received the 79th Inten Exhibition. Japan Academy of Fine Arts Award and the Daikan Prize. He is Professor Emeritus, Hiroshima City University and Professor Emeritus, Onomichi City University. Framed: 41.2 cm x 35 cm or 16 1/4 inches x 13 3/4 inches. Aperture: 28 cm x 23 cm or 11 inches x 9 inches.
