This chocolate pot has beautiful delicately handpainted roses in pinks and yellow atop a heavy gilt scalloped border. The pot is covered in raised swiss dots. This is wonderful piece and a true example of fine Japanese porcelain. This type of Japanese porcelain was made for the Japanese market or more like Japanese Royalty. This particular piece dates back to around 1900s. The pot itself is in great condition; no chips or cracks but does have gold discoloration, primarily on the handle. The lid does have a chip on the interior lip that is not seen when it is in place. Also, the interior rim of the pot, has some discoloration due to age and use.
