Antique Japanese Hand Painted Satsuma Jar Vase Meji Period Figures in Vibrant Kimono. Antique Japanese Satsuma pottery hand painted porcelain vase, Meiji period. An off-white ground with hand painted images of a gathering of women figures in traditional colorful kimono underneath trees, large sunflowers and red maple leaves. Fine gilded details throughout. Measures 7.25 inch height. Width is 6.5 inch. Very good condition with no damage. It does have crazing typical of Satsuma pottery and very light wear to the gilding in a few spots. Beautiful Byoubu painted Screen depicting flowers on naturally oxidized silver leafed background. Oxidation of silver creates unique , one of a kind , stunning pattern , making this screen truly unique. Screens were made over wooden frame with multiple backing paper layers and final layer of paper or silk , with applied silver or gold leaf… Framed in lacquered wood with attractive brocade silk framing the painting.. Single minor front damage as seen on photos.. Considering those are normal and expected abrasions , screen is in a very decent condition and can be displayed on the wall without repairs. Age : meji period ,,19 th century. 171.5×365painted area 154×377. Good condition with some minor abrasions due of age as you see in the photos.
