Antique Japanese Hand Painted Satsuma Vase Signed Meiji Period. A beautiful Satsuma vase finely decorated with a hand-painted bridge crossing a flowing river, with a parade of four people on it, carrying flags. There is a majestic mountain in the background along with a Willow tree and a Pine tree. The rim is gold, with a stylised pattern beneath it. There are two square marking on one side with Japanese calligraphy on it. Gilt is inticately used throughout the piece to highlight details. Signed at the bottom with signature and Meiji mon. Colours include muted greens and blues, with iron red and yellow tones. Near perfect condition – no chips, cracks or restorations.
