On the very bottom of one of the vases there is a tiny mark that’s either a firing flaw or possibly a small graze mark (see last photo) and there are another two or three tiny firing flaw marks on both vases which can’t be seen unless you really search for them. Otherwise there’s a very small amount of wear to the over glaze enamels and gilt especially around the rim and bottom. 17.7 cm / 7 inches high. 9 cm / 3.5 inches diameter.

This is beautiful and Amazing pair of Antique Old Asian Japanese Meiji Lacquered wood Painting Frames (2), painted with ornate patterns of silver and gold, and depicting auspicious Japanese symbols such as leaves, bats, chrysanthemums and butterflies, among others. These frames likely date to the late Meiji – early Showa period and are each approximately 19 inches wide x 46 1/2 inches tall. The two frames are not an identical match, with subtle design variations, but complement each other perfectly. The interior dimensions of the frames are approximately 16 x 42 3/4 inches.
